Job Description
The Member Engagement Director is a newly created executive role, designed to elevate the member experience across every touchpoint of Club life. Reporting to the CEO, you will lead three core departments — Membership, Communications and Events — and play a critical role in shaping strategy, driving innovation and ensuring operational excellence.
This is a visible and hands-on position, ideal for a senior leader who thrives on building connection, leading teams, and delivering programs that make an impact.
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Member Lifecycle Strategy – design and deliver tailored experiences from onboarding to milestone moments
- Communications – oversee a comprehensive Club-wide comms plan to inform, engage and celebrate
- Events – curate a vibrant and inclusive calendar that strengthens community and enhances Club culture
- Team Leadership – guide a high-performing team across membership, events and communications
- Data & Insights – use member feedback, demographics and reporting to inform strategic initiatives
- Member Relations – foster deep connections through active engagement and visibility across the Club
- Cross-Functional Collaboration – work closely with senior leaders, committees and staff to align on goals and deliver a seamless experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- 10+ years’ experience in marketing, membership or hospitality leadership
- Deep understanding of member engagement, programming and communications
- A people-first mindset with proven ability to build culture and lead teams
- Strong strategic capability with attention to detail and execution
- Experience working with executive teams and committees
- High emotional intelligence, excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends in line with Club activities
- Background in private clubs or sporting organisations is highly regarded
