Company Profile

Our client has an expansive portfolio of venues in Sydney and will experience significant growth over the coming years. As such they are currently seeking a General Manager of People and Culture to take full responsibility for people performance, further enhancing their service mindset.

Role Profile

Reporting to the CEO, this position will play a pivotal role in the leadership team as the business embarks on its next phase of growth and success. A key aspect of this position is to enable the group to be an employer of choice through implementation of strategies that capture and grow the required workforce competencies within a positive workplace culture.

Key responsibilities of the role include:
  • Engage and actively participate in group and venue strategic planning activities
  • Lead and drive improvements in culture and engagement across the Group
  • Manage the recruitment, induction and training process and toolkit for all new appointees
  • Develop and manage the Group Training Calendar
  • Activate a Talent Identification and Career Path Development Program for the Group
  • Build a program to manage traineeships and apprentices
  • Ensure all employees have up to date employment contracts and job descriptions
  • Develop and implement performance appraisal systems for all levels of the business
Candidate Profile

You will need:
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior management, Human Resources and/or training role
  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Hospitality and or Human Resources desirable but not essential
  • Experience in Hospitality Industry in a group role
  • Operational experience and skills in developing policies and procedures
  • Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment preferred and/or experience presenting to large groups
  • Experience working with Registered Training Organisations
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve problems and conflict, and work efficiently under pressure
  • Well-presented, organised and able to lead by example
