Job Description
We are seeking an Omakase Chef for our award-winning Omakase dining experience, nestled in the heart of Brisbane. The Omakase Chef must have a strong background in Japanese cuisine and culture and want career growth with a busy and vibrant restaurant. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate Omakase Chef with attention to detail, looking to take your experience to the next level. You will be working with the best ingredients to create exceptional dishes and beautiful food in a fast-paced kitchen.
Candidate Profile
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or Omakase Chef preferably in a high-volume restaurant or sushi bar
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure and delivering high-quality results
- Excellent knife skills and ability to handle sushi knives safely.
- Impeccable attention to detail
- Full ownership in your role
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and front-of-house team
- Ability to maintain and follow recipes, processes, and standards
- Drive and ambition with a desire to learn and grow within the team.
- Train and mentor junior sushi chefs, ensuring consistent quality and adherence to standards
- The desire to develop your career within an ambitious and trend-setting restaurant
