Job Description

As Head Baker, you will oversee all aspects of bread production, ensuring consistency, quality, and innovation in every product. You will lead a team of skilled bakers, maintaining high standards in technique, workflow efficiency, and ingredient sourcing. Your role will involve refining existing recipes, developing new products, and implementing best practices to optimize production while maintaining artisanal integrity. With a hands-on approach, you will foster a positive team environment, training and mentoring staff to uphold excellence in craftsmanship.

Beyond daily operations, you will be responsible for managing inventory, maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations, and contributing to the overall direction of the bakery. Your leadership will play a key role in shaping the bakery’s reputation, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring that customers enjoy high-quality, hand-crafted bread. Candidate Profile
  • Proven experience as a Head Baker or Senior Baker in an artisan or high-volume bakery
  • Expertise in traditional and modern bread-making techniques, including sourdough and high-hydration doughs
  • A passion for quality, consistency, and innovation in bread production
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, mentor, and motivate a team
  • Exceptional time management and organisational skills, ensuring efficiency in a fast-paced environment
  • A structured approach to managing production schedules, inventory, and quality control
  • Understanding of food safety and compliance regulations within a commercial bakery setting
  • A hands-on, detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to excellence in every product
