Client Profile

Hastings People has been exclusively retained by a leading award-winning group, which operates a diverse array of hospitality experiences. They are an industry leader that strives for excellence in all aspects of the hospitality industry. This group take pride in the uniqueness of the experiences that they offer their guests in all of their properties.

The first stage of their most recent project is due to open in Spring 2024 in an idyllic location. This will be the first of two stages which will see a multi-outlet venue, casual premium Mediterranean-inspired restaurant and conferencing space open.
             
Job description

This is not a role that comes around every day – it is a unique opportunity within a boutique hotel and we are looking for an Executive chef who has a passion for working with what nature has provided. In this role you will not only be responsible for the day-to-day running of the culinary operation but also for the strategic planning of the second stage of opening mid-next year. The menu will be inspired by local ingredients drawing inspiration from The Mediterranean and offers full menu creativity. You will be provided with training that will focus on developing your management and business skills, leading to more extensive career opportunities in the future.  

Candidate Profile

If you are a chef who has an understanding and love of local produce, are looking for a sea change, want to work with some of the best in the industry and want to put your own stamp on contemporary Australian cuisine then this might be the perfect role for you.

To be considered for this role you will have:
  • A proven track record in building teams focused on process and product 
  • Experience as a Senior Sous chef or Head chef
  • Passionate about native ingredients
  • Ability to work in a creative manner
  • Excellent and innovative cooking and service skills
  • Staff training and development experience
  • Professional, articulate, friendly, and punctual
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to problem-solve
  • Demonstrates drive to provide exceptional guest service  
This role offers a very strong base salary package and includes a 2-bedroom house as part of the accommodation and relocation assistance if required.
